This exit device top rod is a concealed vertical rod top bent rod used to link the exit device mechanism to the head of the door. Built from metal with a gray finish, it measures 47-1/8" in length and can be shortened by 13" to suit the opening. The rod is intended for commercial doors using concealed vertical rod devices and is listed as compatible with 1690 and 1990 series hardware. It serves as the mechanical linkage at the top of the door, transmitting device motion for latch retraction. The part is not fire rated and is not an ADA component. Verify coupling geometry, bend orientation, and final cut length during installation, and test for smooth operation before closing up the assembly.
