Remove Broken Keys Quickly with the HPC EZ-1
A broken key stuck in a lock is frustrating, but with the right tool you can solve this problem within minutes. The HPC EZ-1 Saw Tooth Key Extractor is specifically designed to safely and effectively remove broken keys from cylinders without damaging the lock.
This professional extractor is used worldwide by locksmiths and is also excellent for hobbyists who want to tackle the problem themselves. The saw tooth technique differs fundamentally from spiral extractors and offers the best results especially with hard-to-reach key fragments.
The HPC EZ-1 works differently than spiral extractors. Where a spiral extractor tries to grip in the grooves of the key, the saw tooth extractor uses the “shelf” at the top or bottom of the keyway. This makes it ideal for situations where you cannot get between the grooves without pushing the key further into the lock.
The technique is simple: you carefully slide the extractor over the top of the keyway (where the pins or wafers normally sit), gently move it back and forth while applying light pressure, and then pull out the broken piece. The saw teeth provide excellent grip on the key fragment.
