The GapGuard Fire Caulk is a product that can be used within an NGP system (such as GAP90 end caps, HP90 or GAP90-ME) or as a stand-alone patch for rated steel frames and doors: up to 90 minutes for 1/2" holes or 45 minutes for 1" holes. May be used to fill void at the bottom of metal frames and sill when shimming is required for uneven floors up to 3/8" up to 90 minutes.
Installing GapGuard Fire Caulk:
- Ensure hole or cutout is clean and free from debris.
- Apply the GapGuard Fire Caulk to fill hole to a depth between flush and within 1/8" of the face of the door. If GapGuard Fire Caulk is exposed at the surface, then immediately clean from surface.
- Allow 24 hours for the GapGuard Fire Caulk to cure.
- The GapGuard Fire Caulk can be sanded and stained/painted as desired for aesthetic purposes.
- Wood filler or other cosmetic fillers can be used up to 1/8" in thickness
