Taylor Security & Lock Verified Purchase

If you're looking for a typical self-storage padlock, look elsewhere. This ABUS diskus lock is too large for many self-storage facilities, but if the locking mechanism can handle a 7/16" shackle, buy this lock. The German-made ABUS 20/80 uses a bump-proof and extremely pick-resistant 6-disc disc-detainer system that has 2 hardened steel discs in the front to ward off pulling and drilling attacks. Also, the build quality that the 20/80 exudes is just "quality." The stainless steel body is thick, the key turns smoothly with no grinding in the cylinder, and it has a meaty feel in hand.
Yes, it does cost 3 to 4 times what a typical Chinese-made disc lock costs, and 2 to 3 times a comparable ABUS disc lock, but the added mass, disc-detainer, extra-thick stainless body, and 11mm shackle means that entering your unit is going to take that much more time and potentially be the difference between protected goods and stolen goods. Highly recommended if you value what you store.
